GeoNumerics participates in the 55th Photogrammetric Week in Stuttgart

on .

From September 7th to 11th, the 55th edition of the "Photogrammetric Week"  ̶ the "PhoWo" ̶  took place at the University of Stuttgart (Stuttgart, Germany).

The Photogrammetric Week series was initiated in Jena, in 1909 by Carl Pulfrich as a “vacation course in stereo-photogrammetry.” In June of the same year Pulfrich sent out the call for participation in the German "Zeitschrift für Vermessungswesen" (ZfV) for the course, which took place from October 4th to 9th. Since 1973 the "PhoWo" has been organised biennially by the Institute of Photogrammetry, at the University of Stuttgart; from 1973 to 1991 under Professor Fritz Ackermann and from 1993 to 2015 under Professor Dieter Fritsch. Today, the "PhoWo" enjoys international recognition as an upgrading seminar and a platform for the exchange of experience.

GeoNumerics participates in the "UAVs: introducción y aplicaciones a la geoinformación y el patrimonio" course

on .

GeoNumerics is glad to announce its participation in the course "UAVs: introducción y aplicaciones a la geoinformación y el patrimonio" organized by CTTC with the collaboration of the Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN) and sponsored by Geotronics and GeoNumerics. The course will be held at the premises of IGN (Madrid, Spain) on 18th - 20th May 2015. Dr. Colomina, Chief Scientist Officer of GeoNumerics, will be one of the invited lecturers, in charge of the navigation integrity and security aspects.

"UAVs: introducción y aplicaciones a la geoinformación y el patrimonio" will introduce the attendants to the use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for geoinformation applications, its components and regulations. The theory will be combined with examples of applications focusing in  photogrammetric applications and the integration of multi-sensor data.

GeoNumerics actively participates in the International Conference on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in Geomatics, UAV-g 2015

on .

The International Conference on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in Geomatics, the UAV-g 2015, was held in Toronto, ON, Canada in the beginning of September 2015. This was the third edition of this conference devoted to the use of small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in the field of Geomatics. The first two editions were held in Zurich and Rostock, respectively.

The contributions of GeoNumerics have been numerous and varied. Dr. Ismael Colomina has been part of the scientific committee in charge of reviewing the conference articles, and has additionally chaired one session. Finally, he participated on the final Panel Discussion held among experts of various fields related to the UAV-g. On the other side, Pere Molina gave an oral presentation of the paper "A method for simultaneous aerial and terrestrial geodata acquisition for corridor mapping" and participated as jury for the posters presented at the congress.

GeoNumerics participates in the 3rd and 4th edition of the "UAV Remote Sensing Principles" Course

on .

GeoNumerics is glad to announce its participation in the course "UAV Remote Sensing principles" organized by CATUAV that will be held in Collsuspina (Catalonia, Spain) on 1st - 5th June 2015 (3rd edition) and on 8th - 12th June 2015 (4th edition). Dr. Colomina, Chief Scientist Officer at GeoNumerics, will be one of the invited lecturers, in charge of introducing the principles and trends of UAV-based photogrammetry.

"UAV Remote Sensing principles" is a one week course that will give you a broad overview of state of the art remote sensing techniques using UAV aerial imagery. A broad board of top level UAV professionals and researchers has been invited to share their knowledge and experience on a wide variety of UAV and remote sensing related topics. The theory is combined with real applications case studies presented by the professionals that carried them.
